The ultimate objective of this presentation is to give you some really good news; that you have the inborn ability or potential to start or develop a theory, company, product and / or service that will significantly improve or positively transform the lives of at least 1 billion people within 10 years, and thus generate wealth beyond what you could possibly spend in a lifetime. Yes; that is the case even if you have neither ever been told, never felt so within you, nor demonstrated so in anyway over the period. (Please read all that again). Indeed, “It’s not what you are that holds you back, it’s what you think you are not.” You are a genius within; you are powerful beyond measure! I’m going to prove that to you, and also show you how to harness or unearth that true or hidden potential already inside of you. But before I do that, I have some bad news for you; it’s the hard truth every young person needs to hear! Promise me that you will not keep this to yourself; that you will share it for others to also get to know and thus also get to be liberated.
Now, let me ask you a very fundamental question…
Why are you here on earth?
You never decided to come into this world; no one ever did; well, ordinarily! You woke up one day to realise that you were in this world, and living among a number of people at various levels: home or household, neighbourhood or community, town or city, country, continent, and the world; though the realisation of these various levels happened at different stages in your life. Though you were born with certain instincts (for instance the instinct to cry, crawl, imitate, be inquisitive, etc.) much of what you know now, and the things you are able to do have been by means of elaborate learning processes such as social conditioning, auto-suggestions, etc; both consciously and unconsciously or subconsciously. The following have been some of your major teachers in those learning processes…
- Family members (especially parents / guardians)
- Religious leaders (especially those of your preference)
- School teachers
- Opinion leaders / Role models
- Mentors / Coaches
- Authors / Writers / Bloggers
These teachers (extractions from the 7 pillars of culture, the super-education system) might have influenced you (or taught you) directly in person (home, class, seminar or workshop, etc.) or through the mass media: internet, radio, television, videos, books, magazines, etc.
Now the first part of the bad news is this…
Most of these people you interact with in this world will lie to you; even some of those you trust so much, like… parents, teachers, pastors, etc! Sadly, they will mostly never tell you the truth about life (I give examples further below); they will lie to you, not because they want to, but because they have to! They have been socially conditioned that way, and ordinarily cannot do otherwise. This starts very early in life, and continues ad infinitum! They will so much consistently lie to you, and you will so much love or buy into the lies you’re told to the extent that you may even find it very difficult or uncomfortable to listen to the truth (objective observable facts) when you are lucky enough to be told the truth at some point in your life. This underlies most the difficulties you are likely to be facing in life; you may have to see the 4 popular and very surprising habits that make life difficult.
It so happens that even with their best intentions, and efforts, chances are that eventually, you have been inadvertently socialised to underestimate your capabilities and are thus using so little of your true or hidden potential (far less than 10 percent of your true or hidden potential) and chances are that your vision and goals are not high enough!
The second part of the bad news is this…
Especially based on what they tell you, and most importantly what they refuse to tell you (for instance they will mostly cleverly, even if inadvertently, hide from you the typical daily difficulties they go through and mostly put up a front that may show to you that everything is fine and dandy) chances are that you think that life is (or otherwise will be) a smooth linear journey, like…
You may be thinking that you have life all figured out since you are schooling (or perhaps graduated successfully) and / or because perhaps you may be religious. You may actually be surprised to note that there is a whopping lot you are yet to figure out, since there is more to life than you mostly see and hear!
You may additionally be thinking that you have so much time ahead of you, but you don’t! And because you may think that you have so much time ahead of you, coupled with some natural laws such as the ‘pleasure-pain’ principle that may be at work in your life without you knowing, you may be more predisposed to (and indeed more interested in) having pleasure or having fun (mostly without the necessary safeguards against the challenges of adulthood you are yet to experience; so having fun is really not the problem as such). And society (including religious organisations) and the media (especially tv and social media) will urge you on with more entertainment and the promise of pleasure; further reasons are presented in the 4 popular and very surprising habits that make life difficult.
Note that you stand the chance of having better fun (and more of it) both at an early age and more consistently for the rest of your life (thus, over a longer period of time) if you get to understand life adequately (if not fully) at an early age. And the onus is on you! The future will surely come, and you will be alive; make sure that 5 years, 10 years, 25 years, 50 years or so from now you can say with confidence that you chose your life, you did not settle for chance; chance is noted for delivering hardships to those who sit aloof. Thankfully there are some key publications on this platform to guide you. In any case, life (in it’s truest reality) is much like this…
I call growing up into an adult and carrying out the expected responsibilities ‘adulting,’ and adulting is tough! Don’t allow the silence of the majority on the matter, and quite often utter propaganda, get you into thinking that adulting may be easy and thus lead you into downplaying the caution herein.
I believe that you have already had some real life experiences that prove the points earlier made; I can assure you that those experiences may be just a tip of the iceberg, a lot more are ahead, unless you get the right knowledge and preparation that will help you to avoid the otherwise would-be difficulties; of course, it’s difficult to fully imagine and vividly feel the true effect of something you are yet to experience; it’s like trying to have a mental experience of birth pangs when you have never conceived a child before let alone give birth). And as you will soon get to see, such right knowledge and preparation are usually not part of the prevailing cultural and religious education, and also the formal education system, so don’t take solace in the fact that you are schooling (or perhaps graduated successfully) and / or because perhaps you may be religious. And the onus is solely on you. As we say, “You have to do your own growing no matter how tall your grandfather was.” Again, there are some key publications on this platform that will fully guide you systematically.
I am going to give you some very serious examples to illustrate the above; some real life issues that majority of people suffer from that you are also likely to suffer from, but that which family, school, society and the media usually don’t talk about so you don’t normally hear about them. I first need to give you the background; you may click here to continue.
PS: The above presentation is an excerpt from my book: PURPOSE COMPASS : 7 amazing steps to a truly fulfilling life; you may click here to see. Also for most of our childhood we have little or no control over the teachers that come into our lives, but for most part of your life at this point you have to deliberately choose who your real teachers should be. (More about this later).
