QUESTION: Have you taken orthodox medication before I am an architect, a designer and a life coach, and I have taken orthodox medication before, but now I don’t; essentially. Indeed, for about twenty-five years now, I’ve diligently avoided orthodox medication. Instead, I do something very simple, exciting and absolutely invigorating, and it’s all because of how I ‘died’ and the three unforgettable lessons I learnt before I ‘woke up.’ And the good news is that as a positive result, most people think I’m ten years younger than I really am.
In this presentation and the sequel, I recount two separate ‘death’ experiences and 3 unforgettable lessons I learnt from them; 1 lesson from the first experience, and 2 lessons from the second one.
So how did I die, and what 3 lessons did I learn before I woke up?
It was during one vacation in Kumasi (the second-largest city in the West African country of Ghana) where I was studying Architecture at the then University of Science & Technology; I had stayed on campus, supposedly to beef up my studio works which were yet to be assessed. I fell ill and logically went to the University Hospital; little did I know what I was going to be faced with.
Until then I had always been falling ill twice every year on the average (often malaria) and I had gotten familiar with the regular medications available; especially chloroquine, paracetamol, and piriton (an antihistamine; since I used to itch from the chloroquin). Strangely, I always had this terribly discomforting feeling in my tummy anytime I took those tablets, and this time I was not ready for it; so after the doctor had gone through his regular procedure with me, I made a very important request… I asked the doctor to prescribe ‘something’ to prevent that funny tummy discomfort I was expecting to occur if I was going to take the medication he was going to give me. This the doctor obliged and prescribed ‘something’ for the purpose.
I got to my room, put the prescription form on my writing desk, did a few other things and jumped into bed; soon I was gone! I died; well, I was not declared clinically dead by a qualified physician, but then events that ensued could only point to the fact that normal physical life did cease. And when I eventually gained consciousness, the prescription form was nowhere to be found; it was gone! Everything else was intact; notably the doors were still closed and the windows still had the netting intact; implying the prescription form couldn’t have been carried away by wind. I suspected that God (or nature, or the universe) was trying to tell / teach me something significant; eventually, I decided not to go back to the hospital for another prescription (that would have helped me to go and get the rest of the medicines). Rather, I took (administered) the available medication, without the antihistamine and the ‘something’ the doctor had prescribed for the tummy discomfort (since I ended up not buying them in the first place). Surprisingly, and for the first time, I did not itch from taking the chloroquine, and generally, I did not witness any funny discomforting feeling in my tummy; throughout the period I was taking the available medication.
On a visit to my next door neighbours some days later, I found some brochures (of medicines) in their room (one of those neighbours wanted to pursue a course in Pharmacy, and had most likely brought in those flyers from his direct uncle’s health facility) and I was attracted to the brochures. As I was going through the brochures, I was greeted by one very interesting one; it had a pregnant woman as the main cover image, and guess what, it was a brochure for the ‘something’ the doctor had prescribed against the tummy discomfort; wow! All my attention shifted towards that brochure, and when I started reading, I had a shock of my life! The list of possible side effects (contraindications) were endless! It definitely was not my kind of medicine, and I believe that, by not finding the prescription (which was to serve as the means of acquiring it) in the first place, let alone taking it, I was miraculously saved from the possible negative consequences of taking that medication. But wait a minute, have you researched on any of the medicines you’ve been taking? Apparently they all have side effects, and indeed many people have suffered from the side effects of orthodox medications more than we may care to admit.
I came to the conclusion that God (or nature, or the universe) was indeed telling me something significant; based on that, I determined that it was possible to live without even having to take orthodox medication, and this I have done since then; of course I take other simple (and less expensive) steps to stay healthy (I’ve done that successfully for 25 years and counting) and I desire to share that also with you; if you’re truly interested, then get my ‘Healthy Habits‘ presentation by selecting your preference from the options further below; else scroll down to see more on the issue…
Lesson 1
The human body (just like that of animals) has its own natural healing mechanism (most recommended), and ordinarily the body will heal itself under the right conditions; which right conditions are generally known, are simple, less expensive, and can be incorporated into our daily lives (routinely).
A lot of medicines hurt rather than help, so I am of the strong opinion that artificial / curative medication should be avoided through lifestyle changes, and reserved for special cases such as emergencies, etc. And thankfully, nature is intelligent enough to heal itself continually; you just need the right knowledge to help your body to do just that.
Good health is very much necessary for a truly happy life; if you keep falling ill every now and then, you cannot accomplish much, or even enjoy the good things you acquire for yourself. It can also cause serious financial drain on you. It therefore makes all the sense to endeavour to stay healthy, and maintain high levels of energy and fitness. Acquire simple techniques for health and vitality as you enjoy a rich life; even if not for yourself, do it for your children and / or other dependents. Get the ‘Healthy Habits‘ presentation.
