Key actions or types of information you can create and share with the smart business card

Contact Card

You may see it as eCard; it is a virtual card (vCard) and allows you to create and use your smart business card to share your contact details, including your names, display picture, phone numbers, company, position, emails, websites, and more. Only those you populate with information will show up on the recipient’s phone.

Standard Profile

Generally, the Profile action allows you to create and share a bit more varied information about you, your company or product(s) to include your contact information, social media icons that link to your social media pages and channels, buttons (with or without thumbnail photos) that link to websites or external pages on the internet, and more.

Notice the “Contact Card” button; it pulls the related contact card when clicked and allows recipients of the profile to save one’s contact details directly to their phones with just a click or two. So rather than sharing a contact card, you can share a profile and the recipient can subsequently save your contacts from there.

The standard profile is so-called in order to distinguish it from another form of profile (Enhaced Profile) that affords you to include even more specialised or premium information that enhances the profile further. You may click here to see the enhanced profile.

This action allows you to create a normal button (without thumbnail photo) and put in a link that, with your smart business card, takes your recipients to a website or an external page on the internet.

Event

This action allows you to create and use your smart business card to share details of an event to your recipient’s phone, and eventually to his/her calendar.

QR Code

This action allows you to create and share an image of your regular QR code, with your prospects. This QR code is the same as the one associated with the card; it is an online QR code, and thus require active internet connectivity for it to work.

Email

This action allows you to create and use your smart business card to share a composed email with your recipient so that there is record of content that he or she can respond to.

DeepLink

This action allows you to create and use your smart business card to share applicable mobile apps pages/channels with a prospect, with ease. When your prospect scans your card, it will open to the desired page on the app.

Accordions allow you to condense a large set of information into expandable headings that expand to reveal the associated content when clicked. They are perfect for frequently-asked questions, etc.

Video embed allows you to add a video from YouTube or Vimeo.

Photo gallery allows you to add a gallery of images.

Leads forms allow you to add a kind of data collection system that prompt recipients to enter some structured information (including their contact details) that will be sent to you electronically, when the accompanying ‘Submit’ button is clicked by the responder. It is a more upfront form that takes the ‘Exchange Contact’ button in the standard profile to a more responsive form.

You can have multiples of these in the profile; for instance, in the screenshot you would notice that two videos are included in the personal profile.

Notice the two buttons beneath the name; one is labelled “Save Contact” and the other is labelled “Exchange Contact”. As you might have rightly guessed by now, the ‘Save Contact’ button allows recipients of the profile to save the related contact details directly to their phones. And when a recipient clicks the ‘Exchange Contact’ button, a form opens for the recipient to type in his or her contact details and subsequently send back to your phone electronically.

eMenu*

This PRO action allows you to create and share a virtual menu (including prices) with your prospects. It is optimised for food vendors as it gives the option to select nutritional elements for each food item you create. Your can organise the menu items into categories.

It can be adapted for other uses; for instance, in the example shown, it is used to create a menu for smart business cards.

Leads Form*

This PRO action allows you to create and use your smart business card to share a kind of data collection system that prompt recipients to enter some structured information (including their contact details) that will be sent to you electronically, when the accompanying ‘Submit’ button is clicked by the person. It is a more upfront form that takes the ‘Exchange Contact’ button to a more responsive form.

You can save your captured leads into your contacts, and also export all of them as a .csv file of all their information; allowing you to easily get those details into software programs like MS Excel, etc. for further action.

Photo Gallery*

This a PRO feature that comes with the enhanced or upgraded Profile action, and allows you create and add a gallery of images to your profile.

Accordion*

This a PRO feature that comes with the enhanced or upgraded Profile action, and allows you create and add accordions of information to your profile. Offline QR Code*

This PRO action allows you to create a special high density QR code that affords you to share your Contact Card, Email, SMS, and Call actions to a prospect’s phone even when the prospect’s phone does not have internet connectivity or internet data.

When you create such an Offline QR code, you can save a copy on your phone (photo gallery) so in the unlikely event that a prospect’s phone does not have internet connectivity at the moment you need to share your contact details, you simply go to your gallery and open the offline QR code image, and all that the prospect has to do is to scan it with a QR scanner app.

You may turn off the internet on a scanning phone (turn off both WiFi and Mobile Data; to be doubly sure) and then scan this special QR code with a QR Scanner app to see; if you use iPhone you can simply scan with your phone’s camera since it doubles as a QR Scanner.

One has to simply click the link popup to open the embedded contact details, and save it.

Profile Video*

This is a PRO feature that comes with the enhanced or upgraded Profile action, and allows you create and add YouTube and Vimeo videos to your profile.

Shared Access*

This PRO feature allows for access to a large collection of cards, and thus most suited for managing multiple cards. For instance, in an organisation or group; it gives you the ability to manage your employees or group members’ smart business cards from a master account, and still give them the ability to manage their individual cards from their end, but then you retain master control and can thus deactivate their cards or override them.

You mean all I need is one single card?

Does it require internet connection for it to work?

Yes, and No! Well, it depends.

First of all, since the system is built (and runs) on cloud computing, you need internet connection when you want to update your stored information. Also, ordinarily when you are sharing information with your smart business card, the person whose phone is to receive your information has to ensure that there is active internet connection on it since the phone momentarily has to connect to the cloud server in realtime. However, there is an offline option, where internet connection is not required…

The offline information transfer method makes use of the Offline QR Code; a PRO feature. Aside the standard QR Code that comes with your card (usually printed at the back of your card) you can create special QR codes – that work without internet – for your Contact Card, Email, SMS, and Call actions. These special offline QR codes can be saved to your phone as images in your photo gallery for example, and can be scanned by a prospect and with that receive the full complements of the inherent contact details, without the need for internet data.

Can I use more than one card if I want to?

Yes, technically it is possible but that is not necessary; except when you want a separate private card (for whatever purpose) in addition to one provided by your organisation, for example.

It is important to note that you can create different profiles or contact details by way of multiple digital cards (eCards) on a single smart business card; so no matter the myriad of information you want to share, they can all be uploaded to a single card. And the beauty of it all is that, you can select from the pile with just a simple touch and transmit any particular information you want; for instance, you can transmit your contact details in one moment to a person, and in the next moment transmit just your email address, and in another moment transmit your company profile to another person. It is that flexible!

Do the cards expire?

Do the people I want to share my information with need to install a particular app on their phones for the process to work?

No, not all. Well, ordinarily you yourself don’t need to install an app, and they also do not have to install an app for the smart business card to work. This is because the smart business card works on NFC technology, and most smartphones these days come already equipped with NFC technology (by way of a special chip inside the phone) in which case no apps will be required for the process to work. However, for persons who have much older generation smartphones and some recent budget ones that may not have the NFC chips installed in it, they may have to install QR-Code scanner apps on their phones and use that to scan the QR-Code on your card in order to receive the information you want to share from your smart business card.

How secure is my data?

What if I misplace my card; what happens?

Simple; we will replace it for you. Either for free or at a heavily discounted cost; here is how that works… At the time of purchase, you have the option to pay a little extra for warranty or insurance on the card (See price table) and get up to 2 replacements within a subscription year, where necessary or when there is cause for replacement. Otherwise when the need for replacement arises you pay just half of the original cost.
