I’ve thought about it many times
Dreading and ready to consider anything else that it rhymes
Oh but all the places I’ll go, sailing ship neverback
I’d follow the breeze through the smiling coast of Africa
Ride my bike through the sands of Egypt and taste the sweet air
Of the Old Kemet if’s still there
I’ll have at my back a little monkey from South Africa
And hope to stop having dreams about the wicked ways of men
I’ll fly my kite up and as high as the giraffes of my sweet Kenya
I’ll try my best not to get too cold as I climb old Mister Kilimanjaro.
Oh Togo, oh the places I’ll go
Though I’ll sail on the Ship Neverback
I will be back
Surely, to my homeland,
Ghana.
